EastendHomes has confirmed an important next step in the Glamis Estate heating and hot water project, with Cadent Gas now appointing design engineers from Fingleton White to carry out surveys across the estate.
The surveys are needed to establish the existing gas network capacity and determine what upgrading works will be required to enable individual heating systems to be installed in homes across the estate.
Engineers will be on site from Monday 21 September 2026 until Wednesday 23 September 2026, carrying out surveys of both individual homes and other areas of the estate. EastendHomes advises that each dwelling survey is expected to take around 15 minutes.
Which properties are included?
The survey programme covers:
Glamis Estate East
101–615 Roslin House, 1–20 Elf Row, 21–24 Elf Row, 450–504 Cable Street, 448 Cable Street and 450A Cable Street.
Glamis Estate West
1–47 Glamis Road (odd numbers), 13–28 Redcastle Close, 1–65 Tarbert Walk and 294–430 Cable Street (even numbers).
Residents need to book an appointment
Residents are being asked to book either a morning (AM) or afternoon (PM) half-day appointment slot.
Appointments can be arranged in one of three ways:
- Scan the QR code contained in the EastendHomes resident letter.
- Contact the EastendHomes Customer Service team on 020 751 74700.
- Email GlamisHeatingRenewal@eastendhomes.net with the subject line “Cadent Survey Appointment”. Glamis_ SurveyAppts_01.00_280826.pdfPDF
EastendHomes has stressed that gaining access to homes is crucial to progressing the project, as Cadent Gas needs the survey information before it can determine the scale of any necessary network upgrades.
Why these surveys matter
The wider heating project currently depends on determining whether the existing gas network can support individual heating systems throughout the estate.
The information gathered by Fingleton White will inform Cadent Gas’s feasibility work and help determine which infrastructure improvements may be required before individual heating installations can proceed.
Residents are therefore encouraged to respond to the appointment request and provide access where possible.
EastendHomes has said that a further project newsletter will follow shortly with additional information.
